Ind Vs WI 2023: Injury Scare As Mohammed Siraj Returns To India; World Cup 2023 In Doubt? Read Here

Ind Vs WI 2023: Indian team injury problem is at an all-time high right now. Just when we thought that the tough times are behind us as Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer are on the verge of returning another main player got injured.

Mohammed Siraj has been rested for West Indies ODI series because of an injury scare. He has been released from the ODI squad as BCCI confirmed ahead of the first match in Barbados.

Siraj was supposed to spearhead India’s bowling against West Indies in the absence of Mohammed Shami. But now Rohit Sharma has to rely on a complete young bowling attack in the series.

Ind Vs WI 2023: Injury Scare

BCCI released a statement which stated that Siraj has complained of a ‘Sore Ankle’ ahead of the series opener. Now, the situation is nothing scary at the moment but if not tackled properly, it might turn into a big injury.

BCCI decided to rest Siraj as a precautionary measure, which is the correct decision. Considering the workload of the right arm medium pacer. He has been leading the Indian pace attack with Shami since Bumrah has been out with an injury for almost a year.

He is considered one of the most improved bowlers in recent times. Siraj also took five wickets in the first inning against West Indies to grab his first Man Of The Match award in test cricket.

World Cup 2023 In Doubts?

Though the situation is not scary at all, it can lead to serious disasters. Siraj has been playing cricket continuously for a long time now. So, his workload has been too overpowering for a while now.

If this sore ankle results in a serious injury, Siraj might join KL Rahul on the list of being doubtful for Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023.
