Ind Vs WI 2023: Now that the test series is over both India and West Indies are completely focused on the ODI series. India had already announced its ODI squad for the series a few weeks back.

And now the Carribeans have also announced their ODI squad to compete against West Indies. And after their disastrous exit from ICC World Cup qualifiers, there was a need for changes.

Cricket West Indies has announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming series and there are some major changes. The changes that were expected. The major taking point of the selection is the return of Simon Hetmeyer after almost two years.

Ind Vs WI 2023: A Changed WI Squad

There are some major changes to the squad. Hetmeyer last dawned the maroon jersey back in 2021. His exclusion from the ODI squad for ICC World Cup qualifiers was also debated after his astonishing performances in IPL 2023.

But he is not the only new inclusion in the squad. As all-rounder Jason Holder and Wicket Keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran are unavailable for the selection, Oshane Thomas and Jayden Seales have made their return.

Yannic Cariah and Gudakesh Motie have also returned to the Caribbean side with Shai Hope as the captain.

India had already announced their squad a few weeks back. And there are some new faces in this series.

Rohit Sharma (c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya (vc), Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar.
