India vs England: Joe Root apologies to Moeen Ali for saying all-rounder has to go back UK

In the second Test against India, England suffered a crushing defeat by 317 runs. England’s woes were compounded when Moeen Ali, who took eight wickets in the second Test, opted to go home instead of playing the remaining two matches.

England captain Joe Root has apologized to Moeen Ali for the statement in which he said that Moeen wanted to return back home.

According to the information revealed, Moeen Ali’s return to England is actually part of the team’s rotation policy. Moeen Ali will now be available after 10 days and he will return for the limited overs series.

“Moeen has chosen to go home. It’s obviously been a very tricky tour for him. As we mentioned at the start (of the winter), if players feel like they need to get out of the bubble, then that’s been an option. It is really important that we stand by that,” said captain Root.

“With Moeen it asked more asking if he wanted to stay, it was a decision he had chosen. Of course we wanted as many players available for as long as possible, but you also want them to be very comfortable here. “
