Jasprit Bumrah: In the Visakhapatnam Test, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah outscored the English batting. In his Test career, he collected his tenth five-wicket haul. As soon as he took his fourth wicket, he also completed 150 Test wickets. He became the 17th bowler for India to reach the 150 Test wicket milestone.

Equalling Ravi Shastri’s Record

Furthermore, he tied Ravi Shastri‘s record of 151 Test wickets by getting the fifth wicket. In addition, Bumrah made history as the first Indian bowler to take 150 Test wickets for his country in the fewest deliveries. He also tied Kapil Dev’s 41-year-old record at the same moment.

Bumrah’s Milestone Moment

The Indian bowler who has taken 150 Test wickets in the fewest deliveries is Jasprit Bumrah. Kapil Dev, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav were among those he left behind. Let’s examine the figures:

Bumrah Joins Elite Club

In the Ahmedabad ground in 1983, Kapil Dev claimed 9 wickets for 83 runs against the West Indies. In that innings, he removed the wickets of batters 3, 4, 5, and 6. In Test cricket, Bumrah is now the second Indian pacer to achieve this feat. He has matched Kapil Dev’s 41-year record. It was Bumrah’s tenth five-wicket haul and his second on Indian territory. In Test cricket, he also became the eighth fast bowler to reach 150 wickets.

Bumrah’s Brilliance Rocks England

He removed all of the major players in this innings, including England batsmen Ben Stokes, Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow, and Joe Root. In 15.5 overs during the innings, Bumrah claimed six wickets at a cost of 45 runs. Upon scoring 253 runs, the England team crumbled. With this, Team India gained a 143-run advantage after scoring 396 runs in the first innings.
