IPL 2023: The forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is getting closer with each day that goes by, and a frenzy of activity has already begun. Prior to the mega auction, franchises have begun to reserve their spots for the IPL 2023 season. According to a recent report, the 16th season of the IPL could begin at the end of March or the beginning of April in 2023.
From when will the IPL 2023 begin?
The 16th season of the IPL might begin on March 31 or April 1, with April 1 being a Saturday making the latter option more likely. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been contacted by IPL stakeholders, and the leading cricket organisation has hinted at the two aforementioned dates.
The IPL 2023 season’s opening game may take place at Ahmedabad’s Motera Stadium because the defending champion Gujarat Titans are expected to play at home to start their campaign.
The World Test Championship final may take place in the first week of June, which could cause trouble for the BCCI because that date is too near to the preliminary IPL 2023 championship match date of June 4, which is when the competition is most likely to conclude, or May 28.
Can India reach the WTC Final?
Despite being fourth in the WTC 2023 standings, India is still in a strong position to make the final if they win the two Test matches against Bangladesh later this month and the four home matches against Australia the following year.
The final ODI match between India and Australia will take place a week before April 1, which is the anticipated start date for the IPL 2023. The last match is likely to be played on March 22, 9 days before the start of the lucrative T20 league, after the two teams have played four Test matches and three ODIs.
