IPL 2023: On Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) achieved a resounding victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR), winning by a remarkable margin of 112 runs. This win significantly boosts RCB's chances of qualifying for the IPL 2023 playoffs. The captain, Faf du Plessis, and the all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell, showcased their exceptional batting skills at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, leading RCB to a formidable total of 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Rajasthan Royals faltered and were dismissed for a mere 59 runs in just 10.3 overs, marking their second-lowest total in the history of the tournament. After the victory, RCB shared a video and claimed that RR could have been bowled out for just 40 runs by taking a hilarious jibe.

RCB's massive victory in IPL 2023

RCB's remarkable victory not only brought them level on points with RR but also significantly improved their net run rate. Unfortunately, the Royals suffered a major setback. Led by Sanju Samson, the team previously held the second-best net run rate among all teams, just behind the table-topping Gujarat Giants. However, their net run rate plummeted to 0.140 after the game, now the lowest among teams with a positive net run rate.

The RCB posted a video on their social media platforms on Monday morning, showcasing the lively atmosphere in the team's dressing room with Faf du Plessis and his teammates having a great time. Victories have always energized Virat Kohli, and he was in a similar mood following the match. With a humorous remark, the former captain jokingly claimed that if he had bowled in the game, the RR would have been dismissed for a mere 40 runs. In the video shared, Virat Kohli can be heard saying, "If I had bowled, they would have been all out for 40."

In pursuit of a target of 172 runs, the Royals experienced a remarkable batting collapse, being dismissed in a mere 10.3 overs. Only Shimron Hetmyer (35 off 19 balls) and Joe Root (10 off 15 balls) managed to reach double-digit scores. Among the bowlers, Wayne Parnell stood out with an impressive performance, taking three wickets for just 10 runs from his three overs. Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma contributed with two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell claimed one wicket each.
