Chris Supports RCB And Punjab Kings With Equal Love

Gayle’s look symbolised years of IPL history. He played for RCB from 2011 to 2017, scoring 3,163 runs in 85 matches. With five centuries and 19 fifties, he became one of the most feared batters in T20 history. His unbeaten 175 remains the highest individual score in IPL.

From 2018 to 2021, he wore the Punjab Kings jersey. In 41 matches, he smashed 1,339 runs with one century and 10 fifties. His powerful knocks and charismatic presence made him a fan favourite in both camps.

With both RCB and PBKS reaching the final, Gayle’s dual support was expected and his outfit said it all.

RCB booked their spot in the final by finishing second in the league with 19 points and beating Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. Virat Kohli was in top form, scoring 614 runs at an average of 55.82. Josh Hazlewood led the bowling with 21 wickets in just 11 games.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings topped the table with a better net run rate but lost to RCB in Qualifier 1. They bounced back by defeating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. Captain Shreyas Iyer was their star with 603 runs this season, including an unbeaten 87 against MI. Arshdeep Singh was their top bowler with 18 wickets in 16 matches.
