IPL Viral Video: In match number 55 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, held at the Chepauk Stadium, Chennai Super Kings' pacemaker Matheesha Pathirana delivered a remarkable performance, securing a match-winning spell. Pathirana recorded figures of 3/47 from his four overs against Delhi Capitals, contributing significantly to CSK's victory by a margin of 27 runs. One of his notable achievements was breaking a crucial partnership by dismissing Manish Pandey. The video capturing this dismissal has garnered widespread attention and has now become viral.

Matheesa Pathirana takes sweet range

In the 13th over of the match, Matheesha Pathirana stepped up to bowl for CSK. Initially, he faced a setback as Manish Pandey struck a six off his very first delivery. Undeterred, Pathirana retaliated and managed to dismiss Pandey on the final ball of the over, effectively breaking a fifty-plus partnership. During his next over, Pathirana conceded six runs.

In the subsequent over, he gave away 12 runs but also took a wicket. As Pathirana entered his final over, he conceded 15 runs but also claimed another valuable wicket. Manish Pandey's wicket jolted the Delhi Capitals' batting as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. The runrate got way higher and the batters couldn't pace up with the pressure.
