Throughout this season, Lomror has faced difficulties in finding his rhythm for RCB, particularly since the batters following the top three have been unable to make a substantial impact in the ongoing campaign.

Mahipal Lomror hits maiden fifty
Prior to his outstanding performance at the Arun Jaitley stadium, Mahipal Lomror had only managed a highest score of 47 runs and a cumulative total of 78 runs in the eight matches he had played during this season. His batting average stood at a modest 15.60. Nevertheless, the Indian batsman completely transformed the narrative with his aggressive innings, showcasing a remarkable change in his approach.
The captain of RCB initiated an aggressive batting display, providing the innings with much-needed momentum by scoring a quickfire 45 runs off 32 balls. The opening pair contributed significantly with a solid partnership of 82 runs for the first wicket. However, the game took a turn when Mitchell Marsh claimed the wickets of Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell in successive deliveries, causing RCB to face a setback. As a result, Mahipal Lomror stepped onto the crease to resume the innings.
Seizing control of the situation, Lomror assumed responsibility and began launching an assault on the DC bowlers during the crucial death overs. He found valuable support from Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat, who held their ground at the opposite end. Lomror’s remarkable performance reached a milestone when he achieved his first-ever IPL half-century by striking a boundary off Mukesh Kumar in the 19th over of the innings. He accomplished this feat in a mere 27 deliveries.
