IPL Viral Video: During Match 35 of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans had a dreadful start against Mumbai Indians when they batted first. They lost their wicket-keeper batter Wridhiman Saha early in the third over of the innings, which happened to be his 150th IPL game. Arjun Tendulkar took the wicked of Saha while he scored only 4 runs off 7 balls. The way the match officials confirmed Saha's dismissal has became a topic of interest now.
Umpire allow review after DRS timer
Tendulkar bowled a delivery of shortish length, clocked at 129.1kph. Saha attempted to pull the ball behind square leg, but he couldn't time it correctly. The ball merely grazed his glove before Ishan Kishan caught it. Both Tendulkar and Kishan were confident that the ball had made contact with the glove, so they waited for the umpire's decision. After some hesitation, the umpire raised his finger. Saha wasn't sure whether he had actually nicked the ball or not, so he had a conversation with his partner Shubman Gill.
Following an extensive discussion, Gill and Saha agreed that they should use the DRS system. However, when Saha signaled for the review, the timer on the screen had already run out. Nevertheless, the TV umpire, Chris Gaffaney, accepted the review request. After examining several replays, Ultra Edge showed that the ball had brushed the glove on its way to the keeper. Despite the decision being upheld, the incident drew attention from Twitter users, who noticed that GT players had been given an extra advantage.

Netizens react to the incident
Horrible review that by Saha & Gill. Generally batters review it straight away when they haven't edged it. And surprisingly the umpire allowed it after the timer.

How did the umpire allow Saha the review after the 15 second timer?

What's the use of a DRS timer if a batter can review it after that?? Saha clearly reviewed it late and the umpire allowed it.#IPL2023 #GTvMI

The timer for the DRS by Saha was clearly exhausted yet the umpire chose to go upstairs.

Absolute mockery of rules of play.
The match referee ought to step in for such situations.@vikrantgupta73@BCCI @IPL @rawatrahul9
Didn’t Saha just review that after the 15-second limit ?

He just wasted a review for his team as well
