Irfan Pathan’s past controversies resurface in wake of new criticism
Earlier in May 2021, Irfan Pathan found himself in hot water when a video accusing him of being in an illicit extra-marital affair went viral on social media. Syed Ibrahim, the girl’s elderly father-in-law, was shown in the video accusing her of having an extramarital relationship with the cricketer. Syed Ibrahim, claiming to be a retired Ahmedabad police officer, charged Irfan Pathan with pressuring his son to allow the relationship to continue. He also said that the police are not prepared to consider their complaint because of the political pressure that Irfan Pathan imposes on key officials.
