Jhulan Goswami: Veteran India Pacer to Retire from International Cricket after England Series

Jhulan Goswami: Veteran India seamer Jhulan Goswami will be retiring from international cricket after the third and final ODI against England, scheduled to be played on September 24 at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Jhulan was selected for the ODI squad for the upcoming series against England on Friday. It is crucial to note that Jhulan did not participate in the ODI series against Sri Lanka because she was given a break following the 2022 ODI World Cup.

Jhulan will finish her career as the highest wicket-taker across all formats in women’s cricket. Currently, she has 352 wickets to her name across all three formats.

Earlier this year, Jhulan’s long-time teammate Mithali Raj had publicly stated her retirement from international cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced the squad members for India Women’s T201 and ODI series in England on Friday. Jemimah Rodrigues has also been named in both teams, although she was ruled out of the ongoing season of The Hundred with injury.

The ODI series will begin on September 10, and the three-match T201 series will begin on September 18.

Kiran Navgire, who has amazed with her big-hitting skills in domestic cricket, has been given a maiden T20I call-up.

This will be India’s first series since their outing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where they won the silver medal.
