Jofra Archer: Australia in trouble? England skipper Ben Stokes gives a big statement on WC winning bowler’s return to ‘Ashes’

Jofra Archer: Ben Stokes, the captain of England, expressed confidence that Jofra Archer would fully recover from his injury problems in time for the upcoming Ashes series but added that the bowler would not be forced back into action. Archer has been sidelined since March 2021.

What did the skipper Ben Stokes say?

Earlier this week, Archer participated for the Lions in a three-day game in the United Arab Emirates against the England Test team.

After a prolonged injury layoff, Archer said on Thursday that he was “fully back,” and he added that he was aiming to make the England team for the Ashes, which will be played on home soil in June.

In a media session, Ben Stokes said that, “He’s one of the superstars of the international game and it’s great to see him running back in, bowling fast and it’s really good to have him back around the group as well.”

Will Jofra return for the Ashes series?

Continuing further, he said “I think he’s just really excited to be back. He’s obviously had a long time off with injury and as exciting as it is we’ve got to be careful not to rush him back as we don’t want to see Jofra Archer on the sidelines for this amount of (time) again. That’s the plan, hopefully we can have Jofra fit and ready especially for the Ashes.”

England is currently playing against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. This is England’s first tour of Pakistan in 17 years.
