World Cup 2023: Good news for all the cricket fans came out earlier today when New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson posted a picture of him practicing in the nets. It is a big deal, as Williamson has been out of the game for a long time.
The New Zealand skipper has been out of the game since he suffered a calf injury in the IPL 2023. In a match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, the right-handed batsman suffered the injury and has been out since then.
He had to undergo surgery that halted his cricket for quite a while. But it looks like he is ready to make his much-awaited return. And this news could not have come at a better time, as the world is preparing for the biggest cricket tournament.
Sweating It Out In Nets
The number 1 test batsman shared a video on Instagram that showed him resuming his batting after a very long time. He has not stated complete net batting, but it is a positive sign that his recovery is going well.
He went down and batted for a few throw down and then called it a session. It was a positive session that showed just how good cricketer Kane Williamson is.
The batsman captioned the video, "Nice to be back in the nets with the bat in hand for a few throws." He would return to a proper net session sooner than anyone could realize. This is good news for cricket.
Eyeing World Cup 2023 Return
This practice montage has come at a wonderful time, as every team is preparing for the biggest prize cricket offers. There is no doubt that Kane Williamson is targeting his return before the commencement of the World Cup 2023.
