Mbappe: “We’ll be back” French striker posts an emotional message on Instagram post FIFA World Cup 2022 loss

Mbappe: In an incredible World Cup final match against Argentina on Sunday in Qatar, sensational French attacker Kylian Mbappe scored a record-setting hat-trick to keep Les Bleus’ World Cup hopes alive. However, the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar’s performance was insufficient to help France win a second straight World Cup title. They fell short to Lionel Messi and team on penalties (4-2) at Doha’s Lusail Stadium, inciting a sea of sadness among the team’s fans.

Mbappe won the Golden Boot for the tournament with eight goals, but he was heartbroken that France did not win the trophy for the second consecutive year despite his heroics. The PSG star has, however, given a three-word, emphatic message to his followers, as well as to French national team supporters.

Mbappe posted a photo on the Instagram with the caption, “We’ll be back,” and it has received a tonne of support from his followers.

Mbappe won the golden boot at FIFA World Cup 2022

Despite not taking home the world’s most prestigious football award a second time, Mbappe still made history by scoring two penalties (at 80 and 118 seconds) on either side of an incredible volley (at 81 seconds) that twice resurrected Les Bleus in what some have dubbed the greatest World Cup final in history.

Mbappe’s hat-trick on Sunday in the sad loss of France to Argentina at the Lusail Stadium was just the second in World Cup final history (Sir Geoff Hurst of England scored the first in the 1966 final). Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria gave Argentina a dominant 2-0 lead early on, but Mbappe’s late brace turned the game around and forced the 2022 finale game into extra time.
