ICC ODI World Cup 2023: With the biggest tournament of cricket really close, everyone is picking their favourites to win it all. Australian team stand-in skipper Mitchell Marsh also gave his predictions for the finals.
Marsh is leading the Australia white ball team in South Africa as Pat Cummins is injured alongside Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc. He has been in phenomenal form lately and was the MVP of the T20 series.
During a YouTube podcast hosted by Micheal Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist, he was asked about the finalists in the World Cup. He was not hesitant and answered the question in a way that many Indian cricket fans won’t like.

Mitch had no doubts and answered in a second that he thinks Australia and Pakistan are the favourites. According to him the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final will be played between these two teams.
The Aussies have a strong team with impeccable combinations. They have right amount of big names, young stars, all-rounders and a fiery bowling attack. Their spin department is also looking decent.
On the other hand, Pakistan has been in top form recently and are the number 1 ODI team. Their trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf are fearful and can ruin any batting attack.
No India In The Mix
The thing that caught everyone’s attention was that Marsh did not name India as his favourites. The Men In Blues not only have a strong squad but will also have the home advantage.
So, not hearing there name might be little surprising for everyone. It might have to do with recent form that Indian team is in Asia Cup 2023.
