Asia Cup 2023: As the Indian board announced the Blues' squad for the upcoming sub-continental tournament, there were lots of questions. Many critics and ex-players liked the teams but raised many questions about different players.
The exclusion of a wrist spinner, the extra batsman in the middle order, or the exclusion of Sanju Samson. There were many questions that were looming over the Asia Cup 2023 squad. But one Indian legend was fed up with all the questions and doubts.
In the Hotstar expert discussion panel, former Indian skipper and ODI World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar shared his views on the squad. He was pleased with the team selected by Ajit Agarkar and Co. and was furious over the constant questions that were being raised at the squad.
"This Is Our Asia Cup 2023 Squad"
While answering a fan query over whether Ravichandran Ashwin should have been part of the team or not, Gavaskar lost his cool and got furious. He had already answered a few questions over the exclusion of a wrist spinner and Sanju Samson.
But after a while when the questions did not stop, Sunil Gavaskar answered furiously. He stated that there are many players that could have been in the team. But the team is selected and this is our team for the Asia Cup 2023.
So, don't talk about Ashwin or any other player that was not selected. He urged everyone to stop creating controversy and support the team. He finished the statement by stating that if you don't like the squad, then don't watch the match.
His Views On Sanju Samson And Yuzvendra Chahal Exclusion!
Before getting outraged, Sunil Gavaskar shared his views on the exclusion of Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal. He stated that if Samson had more runs he would have been in the team and stated the same with Chahal.
He further elaborated that sometimes selectors are looking at the balance of the team and different aspects. Gavaskar further stated Kuldeep Yadav is a better batsman than Chahal and that must be why he got the nod.
