Novak Djokovic: Following his narrow victory over Thomas Fritz in the ATP World Tour Finals semifinal on Saturday, Novak Djokovic acknowledged that it wasn’t one of his bets tennis days. With Fritz challenging the 21-time Grand Slam champion all the way in the semifinal match, Djokovic was in for a fight. In Turin, the Serbian was able to prevail 7-6(5) 7-6(6) despite Fritz’s big show of power and skill.
Novak reaches the finale
In order to win the largest prize in tennis history and $4,740,300 for winning the event trophy unblemished, Djokovic will now play Casper Ruud in the championship match. After the game on Saturday, the Serbian remarked that he had to struggle to survive against Fritz and that he didn’t feel particularly alert or at ease.
Djokovic said that it wasn’t one of his better days in the sport but yet expressed his relief at beating the German. The 35-year old said, “”I had to fight to survive.”

“I didn’t feel very reactive today or very comfortable… I am very pleased to have overcome this one as I don’t think it was one of my best days with my tennis but I managed to hang in there.”
Novak also reached his eighth career year-end of the final of tournament. However, the str Serbian tennis player feels that this wasn’t his best. He will now take on Rudd.
“It’s tough sometimes because things are obviously going great, but sometimes they can go almost too well.”
