New Zealand added another feather to their cap by becoming the third team, following England and India, to clinch a Test match after being asked to follow on. The match spanned across five days and was an eventful journey with both teams witnessing ups and downs. England posted an imposing score of 435/8 before declaring their innings and later dismissing the hosts for 209.

However, former captain Kane Williamson’s remarkable innings of 132 runs helped New Zealand stage a comeback. On the final day, England suffered a major setback losing four wickets for just 27 runs, including the crucial partnership of Joe Root and Ben Stokes. But it was the wicket of James Anderson that eventually sealed the fate of the series, resulting in a draw.
