PAK vs NZ: New Zealand skipper Tim Southee chose to bat first in the second test against Pakistan. Their batter Tom Latham and Devon Conway, who had a 134-run stand at lunch on the opening day, proved the decision to be very fruitful.
Naseem Shah provides breakthrough with wicket
Except for a few close calls against each batter, Pakistan had little going for them during the whole game. Latham, who was called out LBW on the field, was saved by an inside edge caught, but Hamza had another review go against him, this one against Conway, with the height denying Pakistan.
Naseem, one of the main Pakistani pacer, provided the breakthrough, nevertheless. As a faster approached from outside the crease, Latham missed the delivery and was struck on the pads. After giving it some serious thought, Conway decided against reviewing. Because the delivery was already at full length, not much more could have continued after contact without hitting the leg stump. Thus, Latham walked out to the paviliion and did not waste the DRS.
