PSL 2023: Amir’s frustration peaks, throws ball at Babar Azam in Peshawar Zalmi’s thrilling victory over Karachi Kings, Video

PSL 2023: The second match of the Pakistan Super League 2023 saw a thrilling encounter between Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. Babar, playing against his former side, put in a valiant performance with a score of 68 off 40 deliveries. Tom Kohler-Cadmore also played brilliantly, smashing 92 off just 50 balls, as Peshawar reached a strong total of 199/5 in 20 overs. Karachi Kings gave a solid response, with captain Imad Wasim scoring 80* and Shoaib Malik contributing 52, but ultimately fell two runs short of victory.

Amir’s frustration boils over as Babar Azam stars with the bat

Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first, with young Muhammad Haris getting Peshawar off to a solid start by smashing a brilliant four off Mohammad Amir’s delivery. Babar also hit Amir for a solid cover drive in the first over. The two faced off again in the sixth over, where Amir bowled a loose delivery down the leg side that Babar flicked to the boundary. On the next delivery, Amir threw the ball at the batter in frustration after he played a defensive shot.

James Neesham shines with the ball as Peshawar Zalmi defend big total

Amir ended up conceding 42 runs in four overs without taking a wicket, while Imad Wasim also conceded a similar amount in one less over. James Neesham was the pick of the bowlers for Peshawar, registering figures of 2/26 in four overs. Wasim and Malik put on a meticulous 131-run stand that gave Karachi Kings hope, but the side eventually fell short in a dramatic run-chase. In the opening match of PSL, Lahore Qalandars narrowly defeated Multan Sultans by one run, while Quetta Gladiators will open their campaign against Multan on Wednesday.
