PSL 2026: Mohammad Amir of Rawalpindiz and Faheem Ashraf of Islamabad United have been fined 10 percent of their match fees for violating Pakistan Super League (PSL) code of conduct. Meanwhile, Kamran Ghulam of Rawalpindiz has defended the duel between the two by saying such things happen in heat of the moment.
The verbal duel happened during match 34 of the ongoing PSL 2026 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Level Of Punishment
Amir was found guilty of violating Article 25 of the Pakistan Super League’s code of conduct. The article refers to the use of actions, gestures or language that disparages or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during a match.

In contrast, Ashraf was found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 that deals with bringing the game of cricket into disrepute.
Both the players pleaded guilty to the charges levelled by on-field umpires Faisal Khan Aafreedi and Alex Wharf. Both Amir and Faheem then went on to accept the sanction adjudged by Match Referee Sir Richard Richardson.
PSL 2026-Turn Of Events
The incident happened after Amir dismissed Faheem on the 17th over’s third ball. The incident happened when Amir gave an animated send-off after he dismissed him. The slower bouncer of Amir was enough for Faheem as he tried to play the ramp shot. Then, Amir gave the send-off that was not appreciated by Faheem.
The batsman then charged towards the Amir and pointed his bat towards Amir while hurling a few words. Mohammad Amir then came back with his own fiery response before his teammates came to stop the fight.
In the match, Amir took two wickets, dismissing Faheem and Sameer Minhas while Faheem scored just 11 runs for Islamabad United. Rawalpindiz are out of contention after they won just 1 out of 9 played matches. On the other hand, Islamabad United has already qualified for the playoffs.
