Financial Support for Athletes: The Chief Minister introduced a scheme for advance financial aid to athletes to enhance their preparation for major events.
Paris Olympics Representation: Out of 100 Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics, 19 hailed from Punjab. The state also contributed 8 players to the bronze-winning Indian hockey team.
Financial Rewards: A total of Rs. 13.10 crore was distributed among Olympians and Paralympians for preparation and as rewards for their achievements.
