Financial Support for Athletes: The Chief Minister introduced a scheme for advance financial aid to athletes to enhance their preparation for major events.
Paris Olympics Representation: Out of 100 Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics, 19 hailed from Punjab. The state also contributed 8 players to the bronze-winning Indian hockey team.
Financial Rewards: A total of Rs. 13.10 crore was distributed among Olympians and Paralympians for preparation and as rewards for their achievements.
Government Jobs for Players: Eleven renowned players, including 9 hockey stars, were awarded PCS and DSP positions as recognition for their contributions to sports.
Sports Nurseries Development: Work has commenced on 260 out of 1,000 planned sports nurseries to nurture young talent and prepare them for national and international competitions.
