Punjab Police File 40,000-Page Charge Sheet

Why does this development matter for Punjab?

The latest charge sheet advances the investigation to yet another phase and the evidence and allegations are before a court.

Legal Processes Will Decide the Verdict

Bikram Singh Majithia has denied the charges leveled against him. The court has not proven the allegations as facts, the judicial process will decide the case. However, this development has drawn the focus back to Punjab’s anti-drug campaign and the state government’s bid to look into the financial connections of those involved. The case’s findings and ruling in the case will be crucial to the larger debate surrounding the fight against the drug menace in the state.
