RCB vs LSG IPL 2023: In the 43rd match of the IPL 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore has defeated Lucknow Super Giants by a margin of 18 runs at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Faf Du Plessis returned as the skipper and opted to bat first after winning the toss. The visitors managed to post 126/9 in 20 overs. In response, RCB bowlers did a wonder and with the help of regular wickets, they managed to restrict the home team, LSG, to a score of 108 in 19.5 overs.

LSG batters bow down to RCB
Coming to chase a modest score of 127, the home team did not have an ideal start. Regular opener & skipper KL Rahul couldn't come to start the innings as he suffered an injury in the first innings. Kyle Mayers was dismissed for a two-ball duck in the first over itself. Aysuh scored 4, Krunal Pandya scored 14, Deepak Hooda scored 1, and Marcus Stoinis scored 19 runs.
Gowtham showed resistance and scored 23 off 13 balls, hitting a boundary and two maximums. Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran was also dismissed for 9 runs off 7 balls. Naveen Ul Haq scored 13 off 13 balls in the end while Amit Mishra scored 19 off 30 balls. Skipper KL Rahul, recovering from injury, came to bat after the 9th wicket and scored 0 off 3 balls. Hazlewood & Karn Sharma picked a couple of wickets each while Siraj, Harshal Patel, Maxwell & Hasaranga picked a wicket each.

RCB middle order fails again
Earlier, RCB won the toss and opt to bat first. However, their batting performance was below par. Opener and star batter Virat Kohli scored 31 runs off 30 balls while skipper Faf Du Plessis was the leading run-scorer with 44 off 40 balls. They had a striking partnership as they made 62 runs in 8.5 overs for the first wicket.
The middle & lower order flattered once again. Only Dinesh Karthik scored 16 runs off 11 balls while Maxwell scored 4 off 5. None other batter, apart from DK, could break the double-digit mark. Naveen Ul Haq picked a three-wicket haul while Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra grabbed a couple of wickets each. Gowtham also picked a wicket. Amit Mishra also overtook Lasith Malinga as the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with 171 wickets on his name.
