RCB vs MI IPL 2023: In another impressive display of batting prowess, Glenn Maxwell maintained his exceptional form for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Australian powerhouse smashed a fifty off just 25 balls against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 9th. This remarkable inning marked his fourth half-century in the IPL 2023 season. A video from his knock of Jordan’s over is now going viral on social media.
Maxwell goes berserk against Jordan
After RCB found themselves in a precarious position at 16/2 within three overs, Maxwell stepped in to bat alongside captain Faf du Plessis. Making an impact from the outset, the Australian wasted no time in smashing a boundary off just his second ball against Jason Behrendorff.
Maxwell reserved his most aggressive strokes for Chris Jordan during the innings. The debutant English pacer for Mumbai Indians faced a daunting challenge as Maxwell greeted him with a six over deep square leg on his very first delivery as he came to bowl the 7th over. Undeterred, Maxwell continued his onslaught by sending yet another maximum sailing into the stands, showcasing his exceptional power-hitting abilities.
Reaching his fifty in the 10th over with a single to short third man, the 34-year-old Maxwell couldn’t maintain his momentum as he fell victim to a well-executed slower delivery from fellow Australian Jason Behrendorff. Attempting a big shot, he instead handed a catch to Nehal Wadhera, ending his innings at 64 off 39 balls, comprising of five fours and three sixes.
