RCB vs PBKS IPL 2023: In match 27 of the IPL at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium on Thursday, Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Faf du Plessis had a close call with a beamer from Punjab Kings' stand-in captain Sam Curran. Meanwhile, as Kohli approached Curran, he playfully mock-punched him, which could have led to a dangerous situation had the ball hit du Plessis.

Sam Curran's dangerous delivery

Sam Curran won the toss and elected to field first. RCB's opening batsmen provided a solid start with both players achieving half-centuries. Kohli and du Plessis formed a brilliant partnership, scoring 137 runs for the first wicket. They managed to post 174/4 in 20 overs, with, stunning fifties from Virat (59 off 47) and Faf Du Plessis (84* off 56).

In the 16th over of the RCB innings, the ball slipped out of Sam Curran's hand and flew towards Faf du Plessis, who skillfully ducked to avoid being hit in the face. As Curran rushed over to apologize, Kohli also approached and jokingly attempted to punch the English all-rounder. Kohli also checked on his opening partner's well-being after the close call.
