RR vs SRH IPL 2023: Sunrisers Hyderabad THUMP down Rajasthan in their home with 4 Wicket Victory in Last-Ball Thriller

RR vs SRH IPL 2023: In the 52nd match of IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad has defeated Rajasthan Royals by a margin of 4 wickets. The match took place at the home ground of RR, Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first. Riding on Samson & Buttler’s knock, RR made 214/2 in 20 overs. In response, SRH couldn’t capitalise on the inning but managed to post 217/6 in 20 overs with heroic batting in the last two overs as they required 41 runs. SRH required 17 in the last over and when 5 were required in the last ball, batter Abdul Samad was caught out but that eventually came as a no-ball and finally, he smashed a maximum on the last ball.

RR bowlers defends the total

Coming to chase a total of 215 runs, SRH did not look in touch from the start and kept on losing wickets after every substantial partnership. Opener Anmolpreet Singh gave a brisk start, scoring 33 off 25 balls while Abhishek Sharma scored a valiant fifty. He scored 55 runs off 34 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes.

Rahul Tripathi scored a valiant 47 off 29 balls with 2 boundaries and three sixes. Klaasen scored 26 off 12. In the 19th over, when 41 were required off 12 balls Glenn Philips slammed three sixes and a boundary in a row but got out on the fifth ball with a score of 25 runs in 7 balls. However, in the last over, Abdul Samad played a small cameo and took his team to the victory line and scored 17* in 7 balls. Chahal picked a three-wicket haul while Ashwin & Kuldip Yadav picked a wicket as well.

Buttler & Samson take RR to mammoth total

Earlier, Sanju Samson opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a mammoth total on board with strong performances. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played a knock of 35 runs in 18 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes. The home team, RR, managed to score 61 runs in powerplay while losing just one wicket.

However, it was just batting onslaught from the next batters. Opener Jos Buttler regained his fine form yet again and scored 95 off 59 balls, hitting ten boundaries and four sixes. Skipper Samson who came in at number 3, also managed to score 66* off 38 balls, hitting four boundaries and five maximums. Hetmyer scored 7* off 5 balls. Bhuvneshwar and Marco Jensen picked a wicket each.
