RR vs SRH IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently battling out at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. This is also the first match of the tournament for both teams. Trent Boult, the star bowler from New Zealand, who is playing for Rajasthan Royals jolted the SRH early in their chase by striking two wickets in the first over of the chase itself.

The home team, Sunrisers Hyderabad invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first in the clash. However, they failed to restrict them as RR managed to score 203/5 in 20 overs. Thus, the home team was under the task to chase a mammoth total and start the tournament on winning momentum. However, Trent Boult gave early strikes and put SRH on backfoot.
The first two balls of the innings went dot. Then, just on the third ball, Trent bowled out Abhishek Sharma with an out-swinging yorker and knocked the off-stump. Then, on the fourth ball, he dismissed the new batter on the crease, Rahul Tripathi for a duck as well. Rahul attempted to hit the ball but missed on the edge and was caught out by Holder on the wide slip. The final ball of the over also went for dot, resulting in a double-wicket maiden.
