Saba Karim on Pant being India’s future captain: It’s too early to make up the mind

Rishabh Pant’s rise in the last three months has been phenominal and it has brought him into the spotlights not only in India but also across the world. Many former players and experts have raised their voices for Pant being the future captain for the Indian team.

Meanwhile former India wicket-keeper batsman Saba Karim has stated that it’s too ealry to put an captaincy eye on Rishabh Pant. He said that he has currently became the first choice wicket-keeper for the Indian team across all formats and it’s time for him to play fearless brand of cricket without thinking much.

“He has a refreshing attitude towards the game, he wants all the players playing with him to enjoy. I see a lot of signs of MS Dhoni’s captaincy in him, both in his attitude and his decision-making. He is an instinctive captain,” observed Karim.

“But I feel it is necessary for Rishabh Pant to make his place more secure in all three formats. I feel there are still a couple of grey areas in T20s where he will have to work hard,” said Karim.

Karim stated that Pant needs gto focus on continuing his good form and cement his spot as as wicketkeeper of tha national team.
