Shafali Verma: In South Africa, the Indian women’s team won the inaugural ICC Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup by beating England and writing history in the process. Shafali Verma, the captain of the Indian team, broke down in tears as she accepted her World Cup trophy during the post-game presentation as she reacted to this great accomplishment.

As a member of the Indian squad that lost in the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final and the Commonwealth Games championship match against Australia, Verma sees a special significance in this victory. Verma began to cry with happiness as she praised her squad for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament during the post-match interview that followed the game.
In her post-match interview, Shafali Verma expressed her gratitude to the coaching staff and squad for supporting her during the World Cup as captain. She also expressed her thanks for the BCCI’s constant assistance. She said, “The way all the girls are performing and backing each other, so happy.”

Speaking about the match, the Women in Blue won it by seven wickets after easily chasing down the 69-run target. Titas Sadhu was the game’s best bowler and received the Player of the Match award for her stint of 2-6 in four overs.
