Shakib Al Hasan: In the Super 12 round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Bangladesh and Pakistan squared off against one another as both teams sought to secure a spot in the semifinals. South Africa's chances of moving on are gone as a result of the defeat to the Netherlands, giving Bangladesh and Pakistan a chance to compete for the semi-final spot.
The decision by Bangladesh to bat first at Adelaide Oval backfired when they lost wickets at regular intervals. However, one of these dismissals drew the attention of the crowd and sparked debate because of a serious umpiring error.
Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, played Pakistan's Shadab Khan's delivery on full, attempted to flick it, but missed, and the umpire called DRS. He stood there in shock and did not want to leave the field. He was then dismissed by the umpire under the grounds of LBW, but the captain elected to use the DRS.
He was nonetheless ruled out in spite of numerous replays being displayed on the massive screen that made obvious a clear spike. The Bangla captain, who was visibly surprised, spoke with the umpire and then walked off to the pavilion. Bangladesh suffered from a bad umpiring choice with Shakib's dismissal in a key match.
Given that the winner advances to the last four of the main event, the contest proves to be a high-stakes contest. Meanwhile, the tournament has witnessed a decline in the quality of the umpiring, with the most recent incident being the controversial five-ball over against Australia during their game against Afghanistan.
Coming to the match, Bangladesh gave a target of 128 to Pakistan. The winner of the match will advance to the semi-finals.
