He initially prevented the batsmen from forming partnerships and kept the pressure on the Sri Lankan team’s batting. However, Bhanaka Rajapaksha played the game well by taking his wicket. Naseem Shah also bowled well in the beginning but he could not show his magic in the death overs and proved to be very expensive.

Pakistan’s beginning was in vain

Pakistan got a bonus on the no ball at the start of the innings. But after that like Sri Lanka, Pakistan too could not start well. Captain Babar Azam (5) and Fakhar Zaman (0) lost their wickets in the fourth over. Babar Azam has failed to make a mark in the Asia Cup. At the same time, Fakhar Zaman could not even open the account in this match and got bowled on the very first ball.

After the wicket fell early, Pakistan’s batsmen Muhammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed kept the wickets. Both the batsmen formed partnerships for the team. Pakistan’s score was 68/2 in 10 overs. Paxitan’s run rate was 6.63 at that time while the required run rate was 11. Although the Pakistan batsmen had saved the wicket but the pace of the runs was very slow.

Iftikhar Ahmed tried to increase the pace of the runs but in the fourteenth over of the match, he lost his wicket to Pramod Madhushan. Pakistan touched the 100 mark in the fifteenth over. But it was finding it difficult for the batsmen to open their hands in front of the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Muhammad Rizwan hit a half-century, Hasaranga turned the match
