Smriti Mandhana Completes 200 Matches For India; Joins Legends; Read Here

Smriti Mandhana: Smriti Mandhana achieved a sensational feat during the third T20 match against Bangladesh. As she achieved the milestone of playing 200 international matches for India. This was also her 114th T20 International for the Blues.

Smriti has been the backbone of the Indian women’s team batting for a while now. She has performed for India in all three formats and can be considered one of the best to dawn the blue jersey for India.

BCCI Women’s Twitter went on to social media to announce the feat and congratulate Smriti along the way. The caption read “200 International games and counting for Team India Vice Captain Smriti Mandhana. Go well, Smriti 🙌🙌.”

A Patch Of Bad Form

For a quite considerable period, the Indian vice-captain has been in quite a rough patch in terms of her form. And once again, it was showcased in her milestone match as well when she got out on just 1 run.

Mandhana has been in bad form since the Women’s Premier League. It is not that worrisome because we all know how good a player she is and we are sure that she will bounce back. But it needs to be soon as Asian Games 2023 is right around the corner.

A Career Full Of Milestones

The left-handed batswoman might be in bad form right now, but let’s not forget all the accolades she has achieved in her career. Smriti Mandhana has the record for the fastest T20 century in just 24 deliveries against New Zealand.

She also holds the record for being the youngest T20 captain for India at just 22 years of age. She has scored second most fifties in T20, with 13. Only former Indian player Mithali Raj has scored more with 17.

Smriti also holds the record for most runs by an Indian batswoman in a series when she scored whopping 911 runs in just 19 matches of the ICC Women’s Championship. She had an average of 65 in that tournament and scored 2 centuries and 9 half-centuries.
