Sourav Ganguly: Since Tuesday (October 11), when his departure from the Board of Control for Cricket in India was officially announced at a meeting held in Delhi, Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of India, has been making headlines.
As per the sources, during the BCCI members' meeting in Delhi, he was unable to win the support of the board. Now, Ganguly is asked to step down from his position during the BCCI AGM, an event which will be held in Mumbai on October 18.
So N Srinivasan reportedly was the one who told the BCCI and BJP heavyweights that Ganguly was bad in his tenure and the conflicts he had. And he should not continue.

Interestingly Srinivasan camp had backed Ganguly 3 years ago.
In addition to reports of Saurav Ganguly's departure from the BCCI, reports surfaced that the former captain of India had been accused of underperforming during his three years in charge of Indian cricket.
According to rumours, N Srinivasan, the owner of Chennai Super Kings, was the one who accused Ganguly of being inefficient during his time as BCCI chief. Ganguly did not live up to expectations, according to Srinivasan, a former BCCI head, who supported former India all-rounder Roger Binny to succeed Ganguly as the head of the Indian cricket board.
Kohli - Saorav Ganguly episode stirred lot of controversies
Social media users applauded Srinivasan for doing what they believed was best for Indian cricket by ousting Ganguly from the system. Many Indian cricket fans view Ganguly as a villain as a result of his falling out with former India captain Virat Kohli.

Even those who had criticised Kohli before that ugly incident in late last year came out in support of him after the 33-year-old contradicted Ganguly's statement regarding his removal as team captain while being broadcast live on camera.
At the pre-departure press conference before the South Africa tour, Kohli refuted Ganguly's claim that the BCCI had asked him to keep the captaincy and claimed that not once had he been told that he should. Ganguly had claimed that the BCCI had asked Kohli not to step down from the position.
The player and the board became very gloomy as a result of this. There were rumours that Kohli would be given a notice to explain his remark about Saorav Ganguly at the time, but nothing of the sort happened.
