Despite winning the toss, David Warner's decision to bat first proved to be a misjudgment as the team only managed to score 145 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. This poor performance drew criticism on social media for the entire team, except for Axar Patel who was seen receiving applause for his standout performance yet again.

Delhi Capitals' dismal performance with bat

Delhi Capitals had a dismal performance while batting first after losing the toss. None of their batsmen was able to score more than 34 runs, with six players managing only one run each. The team only managed to set a target of 145 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Sarfaraz Khan, Manish Pandey and Axar Patel were the only players who managed to score in double digits, with Akshar and Manish being the highest run-scorers, each scoring 34 runs. The fans were infuriated with DC's poor batting performance and criticized the team, although Akshar and Manish were the only ones who received applause for their performance.
