SRH vs PBKS IPL 2023: In the fourteenth match of the IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad has defeated Punjab Kings by a margin of 8 wickets. This is also the first victory of SRH in the three matches they have played so far in the tournament. After winning the toss, they opted to bowl first and restricted Punjab to a score of 143/9 in 20 overs, in which Shikhar smashed 99* off 66 balls. In response, Rahul Tripathi led from the front, scoring 74 off 48 balls as they chased down the target with 17 balls to spare.

Coming to chase, the inning was rather smooth for Sunrisers Hyderabad with only a couple of setbacks. Opener Harry Brook showed brilliant touch in start but failed to justify his INR 13.5 crore price as he was dismissed for just 13 runs off 14 balls. Mayank Agarwal managed to score 21 runs off 20 balls. However, it was Rahul Tripathi, who set the tone by scoring 74* off 48 balls, hitting ten boundaries and three sixes.
Skipper Aiden Markram scored 37* off 21 balls. Only Arshdeep and Rahul Chahar were able to pick up the wicket while the other bowlers failed to grab any dismissal.
Shikhar Dhawan’s Classy Knock
Earlier, Aiden Markram led Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first in the clash. Their team did a commendable job in restricting PBKS. Shikhar Dhawan played a captain’s knock, scoring 99* off 66 balls. Through his knock, Punjab cruised to the score of 143/9 in 20 overs. At one point, they were reeling at 89/9, however, he showed brilliant composure throughout.
The rest of the team scored just 44 runs only, with Sam Curran scoring the highest 22 runs. No other batter could even go past the 5-run mark. Markande picked four wickets while Marco Jensen and Umran Malik picked a couple as well and Bhuvneshwar grabbed one too.
