Sri Lanka wrestling cheif dumped the national team and dissapeared in Norway. The team was there in Oslo for United World Wrestling Championships.
The chief may be trying to remain in Europe illegally, said officials on Monday.
According to Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation, Donald Indrawansa dissapreared from team hotel three ago during the tournament. He failed to join the side when tey returned to Sri Lanka on Friday.
"We suspect he may be trying to get into Switzerland," Hewavitharana told AFP. "There was a Sri Lankan who had seen him trying to get a bus ticket."
"There is no way he can stay in Oslo because we have alerted the authorities," he said. "It is most likely he wants to get to another European country, most probably Switzerland."
Sri Lankan athletes are known to have disappeared from international events in the past.
In 2014, Asian Games in South Korea, two athletes made a run and not found since then. Also in 200 a triple jumper bolted in Italy.
