Star Cricketer Shubman Gill Swings Into Action as Indian Spider-Man, Lends Voice to iconic character, Watch Video

Shubman Gill: Star Indian batsman Shubman Gill has achieved another remarkable milestone. The talented batsman has given his voice to the character of Spider-Man in the highly anticipated superhero film, Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse. Shubman has provided dubbing for both the Hindi and Punjabi versions of the movie.

Shubman Gill lends his voice for Spider-Man movie

Sony Pictures India, the prominent distribution company responsible for bringing Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse to Indian audiences, unveiled a special announcement video today featuring Shubman Gill. Notably, in the Indian versions of the film, Spider-Man will be known as Pavitr Prabhakar. With this exciting opportunity, Shubman Gill becomes the first Indian sports star to lend his voice to a Hollywood franchise, marking a significant milestone in his career.

On June 2, Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse is set to release in India in a staggering total of 10 languages, encompassing English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Bengali. Alongside the announcement, a humorous video was shared, depicting numerous people gazing upward towards the ceiling and playfully urging an unseen Shubman to come down.

In the video, a person amusingly remarks, "Khud ko Spider-Man samajhta hai (Does he think he is Spider-Man?)." Interestingly, it becomes apparent that they are actually awaiting his arrival at the recording booth. In true superhero fashion, he lands with flair and delivers the iconic line, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Shubman, who is currently playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL, said "I have grown up watching Spider-Man, and he is one of the most relatable superheroes. Since the movie will be debuting the Indian Spider-Man for the first time on screen, getting to be the voice of our Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, in the Hindi and Punjabi languages was such a remarkable experience for me. Already, I feel superhuman. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this movie."
