ICC Test Rankings: The International Cricket Council has released the updated table of players, following the end of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Indian players such as Virat Kohli and R Ashwin have gained significant updates along with Australian players as well.
Virat Kohli – Ashwin rise in ICC Test Rankings
Star batter and former captain of Indian team, Virat Kohli smashed 186 run in the fourth and final test match of the series at Ahmedabad. This impressive performance has moved him up by seven spots in the rankings for batsmen, and he is currently positioned at the 13th spot in the world.
Virat Kohli’s 1205-day century drought was broken in the fourth Test match, making the Test series a special one for him. India’s Rishabh Pant continues to be placed ninth in the most recent ICC Test rankings for batsmen, while Rohit Sharma is now ranked tenth. Shubhman Gill, another Indian player, improved his ranking by an amazing 17 spots and is currently placed 46th in the world.
With a total of 25 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin took the most wickets in the cricket match between Australia and India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He achieved this record by taking six wickets for 91 runs in the first test innings, which also made him the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s all-time leading wicket-taker.
Axar Patel storms to top-30
Indian left-arm spinner Axar Patel made a significant jump of six places in the latest ICC rankings for bowlers and is now ranked 28th in the world. In addition to this, Patel also made a leap to the fourth spot in the all-rounder’s rankings, which is led by Ashwin and Jadeja.
