WPL 2023 campaign for both the teams

The UP Warriorz team has had an inconsistent campaign so far, with a mix of wins and losses leaving them in third place overall. As they prepare for the crucial match on Friday, the team will be counting on their captain Alyssa Healy to lead the charge. Healy has been in top form with the bat, along with teammate McGrath, who put on a stunning display of batting with a 90 not out off just 50 balls against the Delhi Capitals. Another player to watch out for is Kiran Navgire, who scored an impressive half-century against the Gujarat Giants.

The Mumbai Indians have had an impressive run in the Women’s Premier League, winning five consecutive matches before facing a defeat at the hands of the same team they will be facing in the Eliminator – the UP Warriorz. Led by Sophie Ecclestone’s bowling performance (3/15) and contributions from Tahila McGrath (38 off 25 balls) and Grace Harris (39 off 28 balls), the UP Warriorz emerged victorious by five wickets in that match.

However, in their previous encounter with the UP Warriorz, Mumbai Indians secured a solid eight-wicket win, thanks to Saika Ishaque’s three-wicket haul (3/33) and notable batting performances from Yastika Bhatia (42 off 27 balls) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (45* off 31 balls).

Player performance in WPL 2023

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, has been in fine form with the bat throughout the Women’s Premier League, scoring impressive innings such as 65 off 30 balls and 51 off 30 balls against the Gujarat Giants, and 53 off 33 balls against the UP Warriorz. Additionally, Amelia Kerr has also been a standout performer with the bat, while Saika Ishaque has made crucial contributions with the ball. The Mumbai Indians will be cautious not to let their guard down and lose all the hard work they have put in so far in the tournament.
