Kagiso Rabada: The Proteas and Australia are facing each other in the third edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) at Lord’s on June 11. South Africa won the toss and invited defending champions to bat first. Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne opened the innings for the Aussies.
Kagiso Rabada opened the bowling for the Proteas and bowled three consecutive maidens against Khawaja. The pitch was also favouring the bowlers as the Proteas bowlers were swinging the ball both ways.

Kagiso Rabada two in one over

After delivering three consecutive maiden overs, Rabada put the early pressure on Khawaja and the Aussies. In his fourth over, Labuschagne faced Rabada for the first time in this inning and managed to rotate the strike on the second ball by pushing the ball into short leg.
Rabada was consistently bowling in the corridor of uncertainty and finally got the reward after his 20 balls as he trapped Khawaja outside off stump. Khwaja jumped on seeing the late swing and edged the ball to the first slip, and David Bedingham took a neat catch.

Khawaja was dismissed for a duck and played 20 balls in the first innings of the WTC 2025 final. After Khawajadismissal, Cameron Green came at the number 3 spot and looked confident on the first ball as he glanced the first ball and smashed a boundary on his first ball.

Rabada bowled the next ball outside off stump, and Green easily left the ball, but in the very next ball, Rabada delivered a perfect outswinger which was angling towards off and caught the outside edge of Green. Aiden Markaram took a stunning low catch, and Australia lost their two wickets in a single over.

Labuschagne-Smith partnership

Australia lost their two wickets early, but their experienced two guys are still on the crease as Labuschagne opened the innings for the team and provided support from one end.

Steve Smith entered on the crease after Greendismissal. Temba Bavuma, South Africa's skipper, introduced the first change in the bowling as he brought Lungi Ngidi in place of Marco Jansen, who failed to pick wickets with the new ball in his first spell.
