WIPL 2023: The BCCI is expecting a large payout as more than 30 organisations compete for a franchisee. The inaugural WIPL season will include five teams, with all ten IPL franchises and additional corporations competing to buy a WIPL squad. Haldiram, Infosys, Shriram Group, Manchester United owners, Adanis, and all 10 IPL team owners are among those interested.
Bids will be taken for ten-year period
According to rumours, Indian food and restaurant company Haldirams has indicated interest in owning a stake in the Women IPL. Haldirams obtained the document just a few days before the January 21 deadline. The ITT was available for purchase for a non-refundable charge of Rs five lakh.
The BCCI has included ten Indian cities and venues in the offer, allowing a single entity to bid on several locations. There is no defined starting price, and bids will be taken for a ten-year period (2023-32).
On January 25, the BCCI will open sealed bids and reveal the franchise winners. The deadline for submitting technical proposals for review, which the BCCI will perform in collaboration with the Mumbai-based law firm Argus Partners, is January 23.
IPL Franchises showing interest for WIPL
Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings have all indicated that they will bid for WIPL teams. The minimum bid is not fixed, and bids will be taken for a 10-year period (2023-32).
The BCCI has designated March as the tender window for the WIPL 2023. While the BCCI has not publicly confirmed the dates for the inaugural season, it is scheduled to begin around March 5 and end around March 23.
