World Test Championship: Race getting tougher for Aus, Eng, India

The race to reach the finals of the World Test Championship is getting more and more exciting. New Zealand has already qualified for the mega finals at Lords after Australia’s tour of South Africa got canceled. India and England have a chance to reach the final at Lord’s later this year. Meanwhile, the Australian team is resting on the result of the ongoing series between India and England.

The day/night test between India and England will start from Wednesday and a favorable result will be crucial in the search for the WTC final spot. However, before the third Test, former India batsman Gautam Gambhir said that the Virat Kohli-led team should focus on the pink ball test instead of thinking about the World Test Championship.

If India wins the ongoing series by at least a 2–1 margin, they will will make a place for the final of the WTC. India won a convincing 317 runs in the second Test of the four-match series against England.
