The Aerocity area near Delhi is set to transform into India’s largest multimodal transit hub, integrating air, rail, and road connectivity under the ambitious Namo Bharat Corridor project. This major infrastructure initiative will link Delhi, Haryana, and the National Capital Region (NCR) through a seamless and sustainable transport network.
A Vision for Seamless Connectivity
The upcoming multimodal hub will connect the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) with the Namo Bharat (RRTS) Corridor, Delhi Metro, and interstate roadways. The project aims to provide last-mile connectivity for millions of commuters while reducing travel time across key NCR destinations like Gurugram, Meerut, and Panipat.
Officials said the Aerocity hub will serve as a central interchange for passengers traveling by rapid rail, metro, buses, taxis, and flights, creating a first-of-its-kind integrated transport ecosystem in India.
Boost to Haryana and NCR Development
The Aerocity project is expected to boost Haryana’s connectivity and economic activity, attracting new investments and improving access to employment hubs. It is part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) being developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), with the goal of modernizing regional mobility infrastructure.
Once operational, the hub will support high-speed travel between major NCR cities and is expected to reduce vehicular congestion, carbon emissions, and travel fatigue significantly.
Modern India’s New Transport Landmark
The Namo Bharat Corridor, with Aerocity at its core, is being hailed as a symbol of modern India’s infrastructure transformation. It combines technology, sustainability, and design efficiency to offer world-class public transport facilities.
Officials noted that the hub’s design will also prioritize green mobility, with dedicated spaces for electric vehicles, renewable energy use, and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.
