Andhra Pradesh Plans to Introduce IB Syllabus in Govt Schools

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said at a function to felicitate meritorious students here that the day for introduction of world class International Curriculum (IB) in Andhra Pradesh government schools is not far.

He made these remarks while addressing the students who have secured top positions at various levels in school and intermediate education under the ‘Jagnanan Animuthyalu’ Topper Inam Scheme for the academic year 2022-23.

In a video link, the chief minister said, “In the coming days, God willing, we are planning to introduce IB courses in government schools. The day is near to introduce international standard curriculum in our government schools.”

With a view to encourage and celebrate the talent of the meritorious students of government-run schools and junior colleges, the state government has instituted the ‘Jagannan Animuthyalu’ (State Talent Award) which includes monetary rewards.

The Chief Minister presented medals and merit certificates to the toppers in SSC and Intermediate under various categories. Cash prizes ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs one lakh are given under this scheme.
