Anurag Dhanda Takes Dig at Manoj Tiwari Over Toxic Foam in Yamuna River

The discharge of untreated wastewater, inadequate sewage treatment and the inflow of pollutants from drains are among the major factors contributing to the problem.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda took a sarcastic swipe at BJP MP Manoj Tiwari after toxic foam was spotted floating on the Yamuna River near Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj area.

Reacting to a video shared by news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) on October 30, Dhanda tagged Manoj Tiwari and asked whether he would take a dip in the Yamuna.

The video showed thick layers of toxic foam on the surface of the river near Kalindi Kunj, highlighting the continuing concerns over pollution in the Yamuna.

Dhanda’s remark, ” Manoj Tiwari, will you take a dip?”, was a sarcastic reference to the condition of the river and the issue of its cleanliness.

The Yamuna’s pollution remains a major environmental concern for Delhi, with water quality and the treatment of wastewater continuing to be important challenges.

Through his social media post, Dhanda questioned the condition of the river by directing his remark at the BJP MP, drawing attention to the issue of Yamuna pollution.

Yamuna passes through several states before reaching Delhi, but its stretch through the national capital has faced persistent pollution challenges. The discharge of untreated wastewater, inadequate sewage treatment and the inflow of pollutants from drains are among the major factors contributing to the problem.

The condition of the Yamuna has also remained a recurring subject of political debate

Despite repeated efforts to improve the river’s water quality, the accumulation of pollutants and the appearance of toxic foam continue to draw public attention, particularly during periods when the problem becomes visibly prominent.

The condition of the Yamuna has also remained a recurring subject of political debate in Delhi, with different political parties raising questions about pollution control, sewage treatment and the responsibility of authorities for cleaning the river.

The latest visuals from Kalindi Kunj have once again highlighted the gap between efforts to clean the river and the pollution concerns visible on the ground
