India has formally lodged a strong protest with Beijing after an Arunachal Pradesh woman was reportedly detained at a Chinese airport and allegedly labelled as a “Chinese national.” According to government sources, the woman—who was travelling abroad—was stopped, questioned, and faced unnecessary complications because Chinese authorities refused to acknowledge her Indian identity.

Officials said the incident is a serious concern as it reflects China’s repeated attempts to challenge India’s territorial integrity by refusing to recognise Arunachal Pradesh as part of India. The government has conveyed its objection in clear terms and demanded that Beijing ensure such incidents are not repeated.
India Lodges Strong Protest with Beijing
India maintains that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of the country, and any attempt to treat its citizens differently on international platforms is unacceptable. The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the case and is in touch with the woman to ensure her safety and welfare.
The incident has also sparked reactions across the country, with many highlighting how China’s actions reflect its continuing political posturing despite India’s firm diplomatic stance. Policymakers say such behaviour only strains bilateral relations further at a time when stability in the region is crucial.
In his address, Bhagwant Mann emphasized that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice continues to inspire generations to stand firmly for justice, compassion, and human rights. He said that the 350th martyrdom anniversary is not just a ritualistic observance but a solemn reminder of the Guru’s tireless efforts to protect the freedom of religion and uphold the values of humanity. The Punjab government, he added, is committed to ensuring that these teachings reach the youth through cultural programs, school initiatives, and public awareness campaigns.
Officials involved in the preparations revealed that this year’s commemorative events will include detailed exhibitions on the Guru’s life, traveling photo galleries, children’s competitions, and special kirtan performances across major cities. Additionally, heritage routes connected to the Guru’s journey will be highlighted to promote spiritual tourism in Punjab.
