Bihar Viral Video: In a shocking incident reported in the Saran district of Bihar, a 15-year-old boy Krishna Kumar died after a fake doctor, reportedly using YouTube videos to learn a surgical procedure, performed an operation for removing a gallbladder stone. The incident occurred when the self-proclaimed doctor identified as Ajit Kumar Puri conducted the surgery without any verified medical qualification.
Unqualified Surgeon Conducts Operation Using YouTube Videos
Initially, Krishna Kumar was admitted to Ganpati Hospital in Saran after he started vomiting incessantly. His condition seemed to improve for a while, but Puri said there was a need for an urgent operation. The boy’s father, Chandan Shaw, said the surgery was done by watching online videos and not by seeking proper medical advice. But Puri went ahead with the operation without the family’s consent despite the latter’s objections, in a very aggressive manner.
As Krishna’s condition deteriorated post-surgery, Puri took him to a Patna hospital. The teenage boy died on the way. The unbelievable part- the so-called ‘doctor’ and his accomplices dumped Krishna’s body at the hospital and ran away, leaving the family shocked and dismayed.
Initial Medical Help Sought for Vomiting
Family members said they had sought medical help only to stop Krishna’s vomiting and did not know Puri was unqualified. They are still anguished why the doctor did not follow the minimum medical protocol and abandoned their son.
The police have since registered an FIR to trace the imposter doctor and the missing staff from Ganpati Seva Sadan. The body has been sent for autopsy, and this case puts in light severe lapses in medical oversight and the dangers of unqualified practitioners masquerading as doctors.
