BPSC 70th Exam 2024: After Khan Sir's protest with students over the normalisation process of the BPSC 70th Exam 2024, which had already attracted nationwide attention, tensions escalated in Patnaon Friday. Allegations of a paper leak surfaced, further intensifying the situation. The claims of a paper leak quickly spread on social media, fueling unrest among students and exam authorities. However, the BPSC firmly denied the allegations. They labeled the claims as baseless and the work of mischief-makers.

Students Protest at Bapu Sabhagar, Patna

A video capturing the protest by students at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna spread quickly on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), under the handle "FirstBiharJharkhand." The protests erupted shortly after claims about the paper leak circulated after 1 PM. The students expressed their frustration, demanding clarity and transparency over the alleged issue.

BPSC Denies Paper Leak Claims

Despite the protests, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) strongly denied any reports of a leaked exam paper. The commission dismissed the allegations as rumors, asserting that no paper had been leaked. They warned that strict action would be taken against anyone caught spreading false information or rumors regarding the exam process.

Social Media Reactions to the Protest

The viral video of the protest led to a wide range of reactions on social media. One user remarked, “Ye toh hona he tha” (This was bound to happen), while another criticised the state's officials, saying, “The higher officials of Bihar are being so arbitrary that they will not stop until they ruin the entire Bihar.” A third user pointed out, “Bihar is known as paper leak state,” referring to the history of paper leak controversies in the state.

BPSC 70th Exam Details: Huge Number of Candidates

The BPSC 70th Exam 2024 was being conducted for around 480,000 candidates, with 50,000 of them assigned exam centers in Patna alone. The exam was spread across 912 centers in 36 districts. The exam started at 12 PM, and candidates were allowed to enter the exam centers between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM, an hour before the exam began.

Stringent Security Measures for a Fair Exam Process

To ensure a fair and transparent exam process, the BPSC implemented strict security measures. Over 25,000 CCTV cameras were installed across exam centers to monitor the proceedings. A Command Control Center at the BPSC headquarters monitored the entire exam live, while district-specific technical teams supervised individual centers. If any suspicious activity, such as students discussing answers, was noticed, it was immediately flagged, and the center superintendents were alerted.
